Privacy policy

The short version
You do not need an account to use anything here. We do not ask for your name or your email address, and the words you type into a puzzle maker never leave your browser: the puzzle is built on your own device, so there is no copy of it on our servers.
What we collect
Nothing you type. Word lists, clues and titles entered into a maker are processed in your browser and are not transmitted to us or stored anywhere.
Standard server logs. Our host records the usual request information, which includes your IP address, the page requested, and your browser's user agent. These are kept for a short period for security and to diagnose faults.
Analytics. We use privacy-oriented analytics to count page views and see which puzzles are popular. This is aggregate: it does not identify you.
Advertising
This site is free because it carries advertising. Advertising partners, including Google, may set cookies or use similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google at Google Ads Settings, and out of many other networks at aboutads.info. In the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area you will be asked for consent before any non-essential cookie is set, and you can change that choice at any time.
Children
These puzzles are made for classrooms and families, so children may well use the site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Because we do not hold accounts, in practice this usually concerns server logs and advertising identifiers. Write to us and we will help.
