About Insects
Every creature on this card shares the same blueprint: six legs, three body sections, and usually a pair of antennae. Beetles alone make up the largest order of animals on Earth, which is why the ladybug and the firefly both belong there despite looking nothing alike. Butterflies and moths spend part of life as a caterpillar, then remodel entirely inside a chrysalis or a cocoon. Spiders, with eight legs, are not insects and do not appear here.
Reach for this during a life cycle or habitat unit, or on any afternoon when a bug hunt outside has to move indoors.
