About Church
A church building is arranged for a purpose. The steeple carries the bell so a sound can travel farther than a voice; rows of pews face a raised pulpit so a sermon reaches the back wall; the organ supports a choir that most of the congregation can hear but not see. An usher hands out the bulletin and passes the offering plate. Candles, a cross, and a baptismal font mark the places where the service pauses and something particular happens.
Reach for this in a Sunday school room, a youth group meeting, or a confirmation class where students are learning the names of what surrounds them.
