About Fairy Tale

Fairy tales traveled by mouth for centuries before anyone wrote them down. The Brothers Grimm collected German household stories in the early 1800s, and Hans Christian Andersen wrote original tales in Danish soon after. The same pieces keep reappearing across cultures: a tower, a glass slipper, a bargain with a witch, a knight sent into the forest. Many versions were far darker than the ones printed for children today. This grid hides eighteen of those familiar props and characters.
