About Fruits
Botanically, a fruit is the seed-bearing part of a flowering plant, which is why tomatoes and cucumbers qualify while rhubarb does not. The names hidden here cross continents and growing habits: pineapples grow low to the ground on spiky plants rather than on trees, figs ripen from flowers that bloom inside the fruit, and a watermelon is mostly water by weight. Lemons and limes belong to the citrus family, while peaches, cherries, plums, and apricots all guard a single hard stone.
Reach for this sheet when a lesson on plants, nutrition, or grocery vocabulary needs a quiet ten minutes that keeps the topic in view.
