About Birthday
Birthdays mark the day you were born, and the customs around them borrow from many places. "Happy Birthday to You" grew out of a classroom greeting song. The pinata came to Mexican celebrations by way of Spain, with roots traced further east. Each month carries an assigned birthstone, and your birth date sets your zodiac sign. Candles, frosting and a wish blown out in one breath round out the familiar ritual.
Reach for this when a party needs a quiet activity between the cake and the presents.
