About Music
Music runs on a few basic ideas: pitch, rhythm, and tempo, the speed a piece moves. A violin makes sound from vibrating strings, a flute from air splitting across an edge, a drum from a stretched head. A conductor keeps an orchestra together without making a sound. Harmony stacks notes; melody strings them in a line. When an audience calls the players back, the extra piece they perform is an encore.
Reach for this one in a music room, a choir rehearsal break, or at home after a first year of lessons.
