About Earth Day
The first Earth Day took place on April 22, 1970, when millions of Americans gathered for teach-ins and street cleanups. It still falls on April 22 each year, marked by tree plantings, park cleanups, and recycling drives. The squares here mirror that work: a rain barrel, a garden trowel, sorted cans, a wind turbine. Others name the small creatures a healthy yard depends on, including earthworms, honeybees, and ladybugs, plus the blue marble view of the planet itself.
Reach for this card during an April 22 classroom lesson, a scout meeting, or a community cleanup gathering that needs a group activity.
