About Kwanzaa
Kwanzaa runs seven days, from December 26 through January 1, and centers on the Nguzo Saba: seven principles named in Swahili, one for each night. Families light the mishumaa saba in the kinara, greet one another with Habari Gani, and answer with the principle of the day, from Umoja through Imani. The card also holds the mkeka, the unity cup, ears of corn, the Karamu feast, and the zawadi exchanged near the end.
Reach for this during a December classroom or community celebration, when a group is learning the seven principles and the symbols that go with them.
