About Memorial Day
Memorial Day honors members of the United States armed forces who died in service. It grew out of Decoration Day, when communities gathered in late spring to place flowers on soldiers' graves, and it now falls on the last Monday in May. Flags fly at half staff until noon, then rise to full height. This card holds both halves of the day: bugle calls, wreaths and an honor guard alongside the picnic tables, lemonade and parades that follow.
