About Ancient Egypt
Egyptian civilization grew along the Nile, whose yearly flood left behind soil rich enough to feed cities and the workers who raised the pyramids at Giza. Scribes kept records on papyrus in hieroglyphs, a script no one could read until the Rosetta Stone gave scholars a way in. Clues here cover burial practice, including canopic jars and the sarcophagus, alongside rulers such as Cleopatra and Tutankhamun, whose tomb Howard Carter opened in 1922.
