About Soccer
Soccer runs on a simple structure: two teams of eleven, two halves of forty-five minutes, and one referee whose whistle starts and stops everything. Most of the vocabulary on this sheet comes from that structure. A hat trick is three goals by one player in a single match. The offside rule governs where an attacker may stand when a teammate passes. The World Cup, held every four years, draws national teams from every continent, and the field itself is called the pitch.
Reach for this when a class, team, or family is talking soccer during a tournament season or the week before a first practice.
