About Cats

Cats sleep for much of the day and hunt in short bursts, which is why a pounce can arrive from a dead stop. Whiskers act as touch sensors, feeding information about gaps and nearby objects. A purr comes from rapid movement in the larynx and can signal contentment or self-soothing. Grooming keeps the coat clean and helps regulate temperature. Siamese and tabby appear here too: tabby names a coat pattern rather than a breed.
