About Dinosaurs
Dinosaurs ruled the land for roughly 165 million years, across the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods. Triceratops carried three facial horns and a bony neck frill, while Stegosaurus bore upright plates along its back and spikes at the tail tip. Some ate plants, some hunted; fossil nests show that many laid eggs and guarded them. Paleontologists read bones, footprints, and insects trapped in amber to piece the picture together. Birds are their living descendants.
Reach for this when a class or a young dinosaur enthusiast is working through prehistoric life, fossils, or geologic time.
