About Wedding
A wedding joins two parts: the ceremony, where the couple exchange vows and rings before witnesses, and the reception that follows, with its toasts, cake and dancing. Many of the details on this sheet carry old meanings. A boutonniere is simply a flower worn at the buttonhole, and confetti takes its name from Italian sweets once thrown at celebrations. Customs differ widely by culture and faith, but invitations, gathered guests and a shared meal show up almost everywhere.
Reach for this page when a class is studying celebrations and traditions, or when guests need something to do at a bridal shower or a reception table.
