About Kindness

Kindness shows up in small, repeatable actions: holding a door, listening without interrupting, writing a thank you note, checking on a neighbor. Many schools set aside time each February for Random Acts of Kindness Day, and service groups mark days when volunteers give hours to food banks and shelters. The clues here separate feelings from deeds. Empathy and compassion name what you notice in someone else; donate, forgive, praise and volunteer name what you actually do about it.

Reach for this during a classroom unit on character education, or when a counselor or club leader wants a quiet activity that keeps kindness vocabulary in front of a group.
