About Nature
Nature runs on slow processes and sudden ones. A glacier can take centuries to grind out a valley, while thunder arrives seconds after lightning superheats the air around it. An acorn holds a whole oak in storage. Moss has no true roots and soaks up water directly through its surface. Ferns released spores into the world long before the first flowering plants appeared. This crossword moves between the very small (pollen, dew, a tadpole) and the very large: canyons, redwoods, migration routes crossing continents.
A good pick for a science teacher wrapping up an ecology or earth science unit, or for anyone filling a rainy afternoon indoors.
