About Space
Space is mostly empty, and that emptiness is what makes everything in it visible: light from a galaxy crosses millions of years before reaching a telescope lens. Jupiter and Saturn are gas giants, massive enough that their gravity shapes the paths of comets and asteroids across the solar system. Craters on the Moon stay sharp for billions of years because there is no wind or rain to wear them down. This crossword works through the vocabulary astronomers and mission engineers use daily.
Reach for this during an astronomy unit, before a planetarium visit, or on the afternoon of an eclipse.
