About Ancient Egypt
Egyptian civilization ran along a river that flooded on schedule, leaving black silt that made farming possible in a desert. Scribes tracked those floods in hieroglyphs on papyrus, a writing system nobody could read for centuries until the Rosetta Stone gave scholars a way in. The pyramids at Giza were already ancient when Cleopatra was born, closer in time to us than to the workers who cut their stone. A pharaoh wore a crown that combined the emblems of Upper and Lower Egypt.
Reach for this sheet when a class is working through ancient civilizations and you want the vocabulary to stick before the unit test.
