About Ocean Animals

The ocean holds animals built on wildly different plans. An octopus has three hearts and blue blood, while a sea anemone stays anchored in one spot and stings passing prey with its tentacles. Manatees graze on seagrass in warm shallow water; walruses haul out on Arctic ice and use their tusks to help pull themselves up. Sea turtles and penguins both breathe air, and several of the animals hidden here, including clams and urchins, have no brain at all.

Reach for this during a marine life or habitats unit, or as a quiet activity after an aquarium visit.
