About Spring
Spring begins in the Northern Hemisphere at the March equinox, when day and night run close to equal length and the sun crosses the celestial equator heading north. Warming soil wakes seeds and bulbs, frozen ground thaws, and tree pollen rides the wind before most leaves are fully out. Robins tug worms from softened lawns, frog eggs hatch into tadpoles, and ewes raise lambs born to match the new grass. Rain does much of the work.
Reach for this when the season turns and you want a seasonal warm-up for a classroom, a library table, or a rainy afternoon at home.
