About Spring
Spring begins in the Northern Hemisphere at the March equinox, when day and night run close to equal length and the sun climbs higher each week. Warmth reaches the soil, frozen ground thaws, and bulbs planted the previous fall push up daffodils and tulips. Robins pull worms from softened lawns and build nests, lambs arrive on farms, and bumblebee queens emerge from winter shelter to start new colonies. Rain falls in short bursts, leaving puddles and the occasional rainbow.
Reach for this sheet in March or April, when a class or a family is watching the first green shoots come up and talking about what changes outside.
